Light Art
Light art is the name of what I do when I make art: it is a play of light, of movement and energy.
Here I explain a bit more about the making process.

Textile art
Using textiles to make art goes back a long way for me. I learned sowing as a child from my mother, who would make all the clothes for our family. Boxes of little pieces of cloth were a treasure, feeling the different tactile sensations of the material, playing with colour and pattern.
The abundant traditions of fabrics from India have been my inspiration too. I call it "painting with cloth", both using machine and hand-embroidery techniques. With the creation of many layers a rich tapestry of colours emerges. Beads, buttons, sea shells and sequence are added for extra light effects. I mostly recycle fabric for these unique pieces, it's a meditation!
Paintings
Mainly acrylic paint on canvas, sometimes with addition of oil pastels to create a layered, more playful result. From smaller 30/30 cm to 120/180 cm bigger pieces and all sizes in between. Some paintings have a white frame included.
Also using aquarelle, acrylic and pencils on paper, when illustrating my children's books.
I love to use a lot of lively colours, expressing emotion. Seeing and feeling energy has always been part of me, now being made tangible in a way. Expressing the hope and reassurance of a life filled with light and open heart connections.
